Squirrel Hunting

Well, Webber is holding it down fishing in the south and I'm fighting the freezing cold and waiting for spring to hit the water. I was able to get out today and do a little squirrel hunting with my dad. It was only 22 degrees this morning and the squirrels weren't very active. We didn't have much time but we were able to get one. I haven't been squirrel hunting in a while and of course we didn't see many squirrels but we did see 4 deer. If we were deer hunting we would have seen 20 squirrels and probably no deer. Whatever, the crockpot is going to get used again.

Until next time, Get Outdoors!

MD strikes again!

Well, rut is over. However the deer are still moving. My brother and I went out for some rifle season action. We only saw one deer but my brother was lucky enough to make a great shot and put him down. He's past several deer up this year and his patience has paid off. He's shot a really nice deer the last 5 years in a row and this year is apparently no different. Congratulations Brian on your harvest and way to represent Cooked Antler Sportsman Club.

Finally...

Well, just figured out how to get back on. We're up and running again. In recent news, I have moved back to Maryland. Sad to leave Texas but I'm confident that our president can hold it down for us down south. That said, Maryland is Crooked Antler strong now. I was lucky enough to fill one of my buck tags in MD with my bow. He went about 30 yards and the Bear did the trick. It felt GREAT to take one with my bow again. Been a while... The picture comes courtesy of my dad and "former" MD chapter president Wayne. He now holds the title of Senior Lease Manager. The Vice President Brian was along for the hunt as well. He was hunting in the south side of the property. Stay tuned though, more pics to come.

Until next time, get outdoors!
